Just a few days ago I went to the gym and was looking forward to my daughter’s Track and Field season starting.  Now we are encouraged to not even leave the house.  What happened?  It’s hard to catch up to the reality of it all.  If you watch the news, a sense of fear and worry can just overwhelm your heart.

Scripture says,

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:6-7

How do we respond to COVID-19?  As individuals, we stay up to date and vigilant as we take steps to protect ourselves and others from this virus.  And when we experience fear and worry growing in our hearts, we turn to prayer.  We invite God into our worry.  And as we enter every new day, we continue to go back to God in prayer and walk in faith knowing, God continues to be with us.

The Lord is my shepherd, …even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Psalms 23:1-4

As a church, we are following the recommendations to avoid gatherings of ten or more people for at least a fifteen-day period.  That includes Sunday March 22 and 29.  That doesn’t mean we go silent.  That means we will continue to share our talks with you on social media.
