E-team

We are the E-Team!  E stands for "Electronics and Entertainment."  I'd like to tell you that there's some deeply spiritual reason that I chose that name, but the truth is that I liked the logo for that name better than the other ones so that's what we went with.   We are the people who make all the pretty lights, pictures, and music look and sound right on Sunday mornings.  All joking aside though, the E-Team exists to create an atmosphere where people can meet with God.   Sometimes we do that through loud music – sometimes it's quiet.  Maybe it's a random picture floating behind song lyrics that grabs your heart, or maybe a movie clip.   Whatever it takes, we do what we can on the audio/visual level to help you connect with God.

The E-Team consists of basically 4 areas:

The Musicians    We're the ones that you see the most on Sunday mornings, and that's really not fair. As a musician, I would say ours is possibly the easiest job on the team.   All we do is stand up, play our instruments, and sing.  Now that's not to say there isn't sacrifice involved.   After all, we do have to get up before noon; and if you've ever known a rock star in your life (or at least a reasonable imitation)  you know that if we had it our way, there would only be one 8:00 on the clock – PM.   The philosophy is basically that if God wanted us to see the sunrise, He would have put it later in the day.The best way to describe our sound would be to take a little rock, a little pop, maybe a little punk, and a lot of just having fun, and mush them all together. We hope you enjoy our music. If you like our sound, you can take it home with you

The Sound Team    These are the guys (and I say guys because that's all there is on the team right now) who keep you from going deaf.  Then again, you may blame them for your Sunday afternoon hearing deficiency.   The Sound Team is responsible for creating a good volume mix of the different instruments and voices that you hear on Sundays.   They also work together with the Computer/Video Team whenever you hear background music (think “The Imperial March” whenever Curt Z approaches the stage) or see a video on the big screen.

The Computer/Video Team   No, they're not a bunch of geeks with their pants jacked up way too high and masking tape on the bridge of their black horn-rimmed glasses.   This is the cool bunch of people who help you know the right words to sing for the songs (now if only they could help me with that).  Anytime you see a projection on the big screen, this team had a hand in it.   These folks are busy, constantly having to stay one step ahead of where the song is going next and what Ken is saying so that they can keep the right information front and center.

The Roadies   Last, but certainly not least, are the Roadies.  If it's set up on the stage, these guys did it.   Those speakers – roadies.  The drum set – roadies (remember, drummers don't like to get up early).  That massive screen – roadies.   These guys keep us running, and I do mean running.  The amount of energy that they have blows my mind.  You have to understand that after they finish setting up our stuff, they usually go and help another area set up their stuff.   These guys just don't know how to stop!

As far as what's coming, well, there is something coming; and it's big..... but it's a secret!  Stay tuned for more to be revealed when the time comes.   I'm hoping that there might be something new on the way, and I'm hoping that it's YOU!  If any of the areas I mentioned above interests you, please let me know.   The only team where you need to know what you're doing before you join is the Musicians.   All other areas provide all the training you need.  We're always looking for more people to join our team and help us reach our goal of creating an atmosphere where people can meet with God.   If you even think you might possibly be interested, please give me a shout, email, phone call, telegram, pony express, txt msg, smoke signal, or any other means of communication to let me know.

See you Sunday! - Dave Moran, E-Team Leader
