Mountain Ridge Church & The Messy Kitchen's 2009 Holiday Baking
Merry Christmas! I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but it's that time of year again...COOKIE TIME!! Hard to imagine it has been a year already. This was the event that started The Messy Kitchen 3 years ago!! Last Christmas, we were able to bless 200 New Hope families in the Dillsburg area with a variety of home baked goods including cookies, quick breads, muffins, brownies, pies, and cakes. Please let that number sink in. Two hundred families in the Dillsburg area need help putting a holiday meal on their table.
We have a goal to meet and here's how we're going to do it. If each family at MRC contributed at least 4 baked good items (for example: 2 dozen cookies and 2 quick breads), we would easily meet our goal in order to serve and bless every one of these families. If you are unable to bake but would like to contribute, gift cards for grocery stores are always welcome.
Drop-off Dates November 29th and December 6th
TMK Baking/Cooking Day December 5th 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. McBIC has graciously allowed us to use their kitchen facilities for this day. We will be baking cookies, bagging baked goods, cooking and picking chicken for soup, singing Christmas hymns and just having a great day of fellowship! If you can help at all that day, please contact Melissa (see below).
New Hope Christmas Basket Distribution Day Wednesday, 12/9, 2 – 4 pm (packing baskets) Thursday, 12/10, 2:00 pm – 6 pm (serving food) and Friday, 12/11, 9 am – 1 pm (serving food) We will be not only packing baskets with the baked goods but also greeting these families and volunteers with hot beverages, soup, hot dogs, and samples of our baking. What a great way to show these families the love of Christ! If you can help serve for any amount of time, please contact Melissa
