When it comes to Children's Ministry at Mountain Ridge Church, we believe in team work. We know that the biggest impact in a child's life is at home with their parents and not at church. We can, however, work with parents to compliment what is happening at home by giving each child and parent tools to raise Godly kids. So at MRC we subscribe to the 252basics.com curriculum. There are two parts.
Part 1: 75 hours we have at home as parents with children:
Each month, at www.familytimes.org, [visit this website and purchase a packet for your home] there is a virtue p/ backet that is specifically created to transfer a spiritual legacy into your child. This virtue packet discusses the same virtue that is taught at MRC from the 252basics curriculum [how cool is that?]. Each packet includes four things. [Approximately $12 per packet]
1.) Drive Time CD
An upbeat story CD to use in the car or a quiet time for the whole family to listen to [includes a special section for parents with practical parenting advice].
2.) Meal Time Notes
This multi-paneled card contains cool ideas and conversation starters for weekly family discussions at the dinner table to talk about that month's virtue.
3.) Bed Time Cards
Written in up-to-date and relevant language, these four bible story cards are provided for parents to read with their child ounce a week at bedtime.
4.) Morning Time Cards
Four cards included for parents to write their own specific words of encouragement to their child throughout the month.

252basics is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52 "Jesus became wiser and grew physically. People liked him, and he pleased God." - NCV
Principle 1.) I need to make the wise choice.
Principle 2.) I can trust God no matter what.
Principle 3.) I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and systematically taught over a three-year track. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month.
